When I search your handle, it now shows up when other people posted your handle, but your account still doesn't show up (see screen shots of 'Top' versus 'People' searches). I tried to add you to the Starter Pack, but your account still doesn't show up

Finally got around to reading The Serengeti Rules. Lovely book and would recommend to anyone interested in the rules governing ecosystems. Great history throughout 🧪

Weird NYT piece stating that science robs us of wonder. No.

"There is grandeur in this view of life...that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved." 🧪

You’re right, a UPR wouldn’t explain that. From the discussion, it seems like the authors don’t have a great explanation other than once there is a high affinity antibody, then the glycosolation sites are flexible enough not to block binding. I agree it seems unsatisfying…

I’ve seen several posts with this story. Terrible. In case people are unaware, there are inexpensive glass breaking (and seatbelt cutting) tools that you can keep in your car’s center console, just in case.

I'll admit that the terminology is confusing, but there's no way to escape the complexity :) Think about the people studying metabolism...

The latest recs are for individuals over 60 or younger individuals with risk factors for severe disease (see attached). Couple other things. The dose should be reduced in chronic kidney disease and there can be some interactions with other meds such as statins. Not a big deal. Doc should know to ask
