Using it as a learning tool like a wooden manikin is ok, but using it like underdrawing is ridiculous. All that time spent setting the model up could be use just drawing.

The time spent trying to get the perfect pose could be spent just redrawing and honing your craft.

Mind you, I like using Daz Studio for reference, but not for tracing and just rendering over it.
The poses can never be as dynamic. (There are exceptions to this like when you have to break the model's bones)
