Thank god. Ending these flexibilities would be disastrous for my patients on buprenorphine. Many would die. The DEA should be lauded for this decision, but it would be even better to make the flexibilities permanent.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

No surprises here. Babies exposed to SSRIs in breastmilk show no additional cognitive difficulties. SSRIs always have been and remain safe, effective, and the gold standard for the treatment of depression and anxiety, even pregnant and breastfeeding.

Did you know that if you forgo sleep and stay up all night watching the news and live-tweeting you become paranoid and delusional? Doesn’t help that Trump is sundowning. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that dementia units didn’t allow patients to have cellphones.

How dare you directly quote Jane Goodall. That was taken out of context.

This is horrible. Irsay was a national mascot for recovery. It’s tragic to see him go out this way. A reminder that buprenorphine removes opioid cravings, ends withdrawal, and allows those dependent on opioids to live a productive, happy life.
NFL owner secretly relapsed, got ketamine from private doctor before death
As a recovery doctor provided ketamine and opioids, Colts owner Jim Irsay spent his final years suffering through a relapse that he and executives hid from the public.

There must REALLY be some bad shit in those Epstein files, huh?

It is my experience that nobody, and I mean nobody, uses kratom (and the more potent 7-0’s) in moderation. It’s expensive, as addictive as any other opioid, it’s dangerous to detox from. It should not be sold in gas stations.
She thought it was just another energy drink. It took half her bodyweight and sent her to rehab.
Kratom products are sold at gas stations across the country. But they can be highly addictive — and getting hooked can have devastating consequences.

Apparently gabapentin increases dementia risk. More reason to use caution with a medication that is frequently abused and almost exclusively prescribed off-label.

A “breakthrough” study demonstrates that excessive calorie intake causes obesity. I mean, yeah. We kindof knew that.
What causes obesity? A major new study is upending common wisdom.
Many people assume obesity is caused by inactivity and burning fewer calories. But our diets — and excess calorie intake — may actually be the cause.

COVID asked the question: do we even need to use drug screens? The answer appears to be yes, at times, with some patients. Important screening is a significant barrier patients who could be helped with treatment if screening requirements are loosened.
