Are we talking like Evil Clone via Star Trek or a clone in the sense that they're just a similar character design-wise Sonic/ Shadow type thing.

It was a great film it swung and took it's shot. I think this current remake is more of a remake of the 1979 version how it comes across to me anyway. If you haven't seen it I recommend Shadow of the Vampire is a great different look at Nosferatu. Defoe and Malcovich are great.
