Lurking not posting. Primarily Econ, History, & Law. Colorado
Woke up to notifications from BlueSky & Libby. It’s my turn to read Dust - yay. Page 3: Thea & Amelia secretly named the chickens… Love knowing the backstory and am already intrigued by your storytelling about a rural part of CO I know so well.

Just finished Trashlands and loved every page. Reading “playlist” after experiencing that story seemed a little funny-not-funny. Haha

Felt the same with Talia’s first book. Took awhile to finish because of the topic. Chrissy Stroop’s book is a collection of stories I found helpful without being traumatic as there isn’t the clinical analysis of the pedagogy / theology. Same with Cait West’s excellent new memoir.

After reading both of your books and listening to nearly every podcast appearance you’ve done since 2018, your comments with D.L. were particularly insightful. Several nuances I hadn’t picked up elsewhere.

Just finished Rift - forgot to get up and eat. It was worth it. Wow. Great writing. Helped me realize why Christian nationalism felt inadequate to fully describe the danger posed by fundamentalists in power. Resistance to xtian patriarchy fuels their hatred towards all who don’t conform.

Just read your chapter in Empty the Pews and, wow. Excited to learn UNREFORMED will be a book. Count me in for a preorder.

Just looked ya up on here after reading Lauren O’Neal seeing a tweet from years ago that I recognized as being written by you. So glad to read this update. Looking forward to reading/ listening to your work. Her chapter in Empty the Pews spoke to me, much like so many of your old tweets. Peace

Just finished, couldn’t put it down. And didn’t even know it was set in Denver when I started. SO GOOD! Then the Acknowledgments: what??? I introduced myself to Saira at her campaign kickoff for CO-1 as we were UVA classmates. Loved your storytelling as much as the story.

Read the skeet but I’m taking a break from phone apps - here for new book ideas. Downloaded The Freaks Came Out to Write. Need a stark contrast from @kathrynajoyce.bsky.social Child Catchers. So very good and well researched while also soul crushing.

Hit that link over the weekend and currently on pg 142 in the chapter Brownshirts v. Board. Thx for promoting it. Even re-read Warlords while waiting for Wild Faith to arrive. But now I’m sad
