The future is bright for Dig. We’re currently ironing out plans for where our blue burrow’s platformer roguelike will pop up next! Stay tuned for more info

In the meantime, if you want to delve in on a new platform, we're deeply discounting the game on Steam.

The Steam demo is OUT NOW & participating in #SteamNextFest!

It’ll feature the game’s opening stage & conclude w/ the first major boss fight. Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game at launch.

Definitely some more sound effects, the game is quite lacking in that regard. I struggled with 3D audio for quite some time - the cars had engine noises at one point! But the attenuation was tricky to get right, and we ended up scrapping it.

Here's the final gameplay! To be honest, posting all this feels... humiliating. Our team ended up coming 30th out of 36. I *know* I can do better. But instead of deleting it all as I usually do, I'm going to leave this post here to get some feedback so I can do better in future.

Here's our solution: setup triggers on the road prefabs that set the forward direction of a car to a given direction.

My final contribution, and perhaps the most interesting: cars that drive around the city! How do you make cars that drive around a city all on their own? Would be interested to hear other people's solutions 🤔

Next, I had to make... more UI! This time, some UI to tell the player where they need to go (a GPS of sorts), how long they have left on the timer, and their score in the form of tips. For my first attempt at somewhat diegetic UI, it was good enough.

My first job was to make a title screen. I don't particularly enjoy UI design, so I made something that fit our game's theme as quick as I could. Those with a keen eye will notice the default Unity assets! You will also notice that that is not how you hold a phone.

Well, what about the actual game idea? We thought to ourselves, "what if we did Crazy Taxi, but you were riding a bicycle instead?" Thus, Crazy Bicycle was born!

The theme was "you only get one". Plenty of ways to interpret that, and our team decided to interpret it as "you only get one minute to pick up and deliver a pizza".
