A big shame that people are raving about the overhyped "Ultimate Line" while ignoring the best super hero book today. The Power Fantasy has been so constanly amazing, there's no contest.

I'm thinking but nothing comes to mind. Certainly no atmospheric platformer with punishing difficulty exists that spawned a small but beloved franchise that I could recommend.

I had many series I loved growing up (FF, RE, Silent Hill), but the first series I remember being obsessed with was Legacy of Kain. I got in right when it unfortunately was cut short with Defiance, but Blood Omen was the first time I started to pay "real attention" to writing and art direction.

Not even John Cullen Murphy could follow it, but I think all did a pretty solid job. A lot of post-Foster pages are breathtaking.
