More amazing river data. Relative Elevation Model #REM of the San Juan River thru Bluff Utah, making use of @opentopography.bsky.social 's code. These visualizations and data help me map alluvial units. (opentopography.org/blog/new-pac...)

Had some amazing field geology days earlier in Utah with the #UGS #GeologicMapping Group. Looking at Mesozoic/Paleozoic, and Cenozoic strata all in one day.

As a non-stratigrapher, found a lot of cool stratigraphy in SE Utah while doing field work this week. 1) Jur. Morrisson/ K. Burro canyon contact. 2) Burro Canyon coarse sands. 3) nice quaternary arroyo cut seds. #FieldworkFriday

The field review is an important step in any geologic map process. Was out today with some Utah Geological Survey co-workers in the mapping group in Plain City and Ogden bay looking over maps and checking out some rocks!

Found this gorgeous canyon just outside my field area in SE Utah yesterday, rim rock is the Cretaceous Burro Canyon formation, deposited by north flowing fluvial channels draining orogenic highlands to the south - now long eroded
