Approximately 250 Blue Jays fans have donated nearly $10,000 to the Seattle Children’s Hospital since the Oct. 20 game, a form of congratulations to the Mariners on a successful season and an expression of gratitude for a well-played series. "Congratulations to the Seattle Mariners for making it this far in the ALCS, it was a tough fight,” one fan wrote in their $100 donation. “Thanks Seattle — both to the team, as well as [for] being my favorite home away from home. Much love from a Jays Fan, Canadian, and (former) Seattleite.” Another fan wrote alongside a $70 donation: “From a long time Blue Jays fan. Congratulations on an amazing series. Well played. It easily could have gone either way. Mariners are a force to be reckoned with. Everyone wins when the outcome adds much needed donations to a children’s hospital. We will see you next year in the playoffs.”

To Raleigh — whose offseason could include a Most Valuable Player award — the year was a failure by the cold calculus of the outcome, the same one that has concluded the other 48 seasons of Mariners baseball. They remain the only team to never reach the World Series. And yet, it was not a year like so many regrettable ones from the past. No pitcher got caught with a thumbtack in his glove. No infielder tried to blow a slow roller into foul territory. No megastars — Johnson, Griffey, Alex Rodriguez — left town in their primes. The roster is strong. The farm system is sound. Players want to stay, not flee. The standard that matters so deeply to Raleigh has never been closer to reality. “This season was very special for everybody,” third baseman Eugenio Suárez said. “For everybody involved in this organization, we have to feel proud. We have to feel happy. The future for this organization is huge, and we have to feel comfortable about that.”

Hello, would you like to cry about how Andrés Muñoz is a wonderful person and teammate (obviously I don't agree about that being the right decision, but I do love him defending his team, ESPECIALLY Bazardo 😭😭😭)
"He’s been awesome for us this season,” Muñoz said. “One homer doesn’t (change) how good a season he had. I think it’s very important that everybody knows about how good he is. Probably without him, we wouldn’t be able to be here.” Falling behind in an elimination game before using the closer had echoes of another moment at Rogers Centre, in 2016, when the Orioles’ Buck Showalter never called for relief ace Zack Britton in a wild-card loss. But Muñoz — an admirable teammate — hit on a truism about postseason baseball: the wisdom of a decision is independent of the result. Bazardo could have easily gotten another ground out from Springer, survived the inning and given a lead to Muñoz for a two-inning save. “At that moment, they think that was a good decision, and we all support that because we’ve been doing that throughout the whole season,” Muñoz said. “Today it didn’t work (but it) doesn’t mean that they (made) a wrong call. Today wasn’t the day, that’s it.”

My biggest superstitious thing this season/postseason has been whenever someone is pitching/batting, I hold the relevant bracelet. It's getting a little ridiculous, but hey, it's working so far 😂 (Plus it's a nice stress fidget thing!) ( ❤️❤️❤️ to @rachlovestv.bsky.social for making several of these!)

Fuck all the way off with this shit, I absolutely HATE this attitude. (And no, it's not just the headline/teaser, the whole article is like "they should've won every game, the fans deserve better," blah blah blah entitlement. His M's commentary often sucks but this is pissing me off extra)

The Seattle Times does say it's dependent on the Jays/Yankees outcome, it seems!
Friday’s winner-take-all Game 5 will start either at 1:40 p.m. or 5:08 p.m., depending on the result of Wednesday night’s ALDS matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees. If the Yankees win to force a Game 5 in that series, the Mariners-Tigers Game 5 will be at 1:40 p.m. If the Blue Jays win to finish off the Yankees, the Mariners-Tigers Game 5 will move to the primetime slot at 5:08 p.m.
