I keep forgetting this is the same person.

Gaylen Ross! She only acted in handful of films before becoming a successful documentarian filmmaker.

And Ballentine from Campfire Radio Theater @campfireradio.bsky.social (audio theater)…the legacy of radio plays lives on in these excellent productions, of which I’m doing a comprehensive listen from the first episode in 2011 to present day resulting in my personal ranking of all the episodes.

Malfi @ronaldmalfi.bsky.social (audiobook)…hell of a storyteller who casts dark shadows of those who came before him. Narrator Joe Hempel is delivering the story with clarity and precision.

These are some high quality “currently consuming” I have going on right now.

Cassidy @natcassidy.bsky.social (book)…just when you think you know, he gives you gifts that surprise your eyes. One of my favorite horror authors of this era.

I hope you enjoy this collage of Vincent Price drinking wine in TALES OF TERROR (1962) as much as I do.

Have a great weekend everybody!

I can’t believe it’s already that “Louise Lasser Eats Thanksgiving Leftovers On The Kitchen Floor” time of the year again!

Recommend your best lesser-known Thanksgiving horror films, books, tv series…

Pass the turkey and the “that’s-not-cranberry sauce.” I’m hungry for Thanksgiving horror.

Can you imagine this guy having a YouTube channel today? The mukbangs would be off the wall…

Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Trevor Howard, Orson Welles…

Just Carol Reed’s direction and Robert Krasker’s cinematography for the underground foot chase scene is worth the entire admission. You talk about shadows. Pure definition of it as it relates to film noir is found here.

“for some, it’s all about the look: the shadows, the style, the allure of the dark side. For others, it’s about the stories: desperate people driven to do dangerous things,” then THE THIRD MAN (1949) checks off both these boxes and then some.

Had to throw in some noir in November and chose this one to start with. If film noir means different things to different people, or as Eddie Muller puts it...

Not to take anything away from Dwight Frye’s performance as Renfield in DRACULA (1931) but have you seen Pablo Alvarez Rubio’s performance as the same character in the Spanish version of DRÀCULA (1931)? He’s an absolute maniac with a spotlight performance…hell, he is the main spotlight…of the film!

Happy Halloween from the auto-cannibalistic Jack Pumpkin and Family!

It’s like the Halloween version of Ray Liotta in HANNIBAL.

I had mentioned it before; Kristoffer Borgli is one of my favorite “auteur” film directors of the modern era and this script just gave me another reason to back that claim up.

One of the reviews on SHUDDER referred to John Lithgow not by name but by “Mr. 3rd Rock from the Sun” 😄 and it made me think of just how versatile of an actor Lithgow truly is. THE RULE OF JENNY PEN showcases his abilities to play evil once again... 1/2

With the recent news of Stephen King possibly hanging it up in the near future, I just want to remind everyone that not only will he leave a loooong-lasting legacy with his work, but he’ll always be a part of the essential Writer’s Starter Kit.

This was/is my personal kit.
