If Bokuto were to confess, he’d probably do it in a grand, spectacular way that would probably embarrass Akaashi in front of the entire school. Right? That fits his personality. At the very least he imagined that his best friend would give whatever gift or chocolate he’d bought directly to him since they saw each other all the time. It didn’t make any sense for him to just drop it at Akaashi’s shoe cubby for him to find. No. It couldn’t have been him. Akaashi finished up his food alone, letting out an exasperated exhale. If the card had been signed, he wouldn’t have to sit here wondering. If the card had been signed, he would know for sure that it didn’t come from Bokuto. The uncertainty only served to give his heart the flimsiest - and most torturous - hope. But knowing the dangers of letting false hope take root, Akaashi decided to not feed it. It was best to just cut those roots off before they had time to spread further. The gift couldn’t be from Bokuto. And that was final. Posting Feb. 14!
