Photography of a prison in El Salvador showing metal bunks from the floor up with four levels of sleeping quarters. The four sets of bunks have multiple individuals in one Twin bed sized space. Many of them are facing the camera in white tshirts and shorts, some are barefoot, some have socks, some are wearing white crocs. Some individuals are wearing masks. It is one room that we can see well over 50 people in. The “little camp” in Buchenwald, 1945. Former political prisoners upon liberation were photographed and is a commonly shared image to depict the graphic and inhumane crimes of Nazis under Hitler’s regime in WW2. Shown are wooden bunks with four levels, where grown adults were expected to sleep three to a “bed”. Victims of this camp shown are severely malnourished and partially nude. Most of the individuals in this image are laying down looking at the camera, while some face away. There is one individual standing and leaning against a wooden support beam holding clothing over his genitals. He is otherwise nude and extremely malnourished, with his rib cage and hips protruding from his sunken skin.
