Note that sometimes the "ripples" are larger - but never when the tide's coming in! Sometimes it looks like they almost have "foam" on them. Also, we're a good 10km from the river mouth.

Have posted a photo. Note that the "disturbance" isn't as great today as it sometimes is...

For those who asked for a photo - it's the horizontal "line" across the river I'm asking about. Note that I took the photo "upriver" from the mouth and the tide is going out currently (ie in the opposite direction to those horizontal ripples). Hence my "itch"

Happy to post a photo tomorrow when it's daylight. I also didn't want to "clog" things up by putting too much info using several posts initially. Actually it might end up being a short video to show the effect better.
