Frolic goes up this weekend! Frolic is a collaboration between myself and the women in my home Town of Gillams. We held a series of conversations last summer and since then I’ve done a series of interviews one on one with women and girls in town. The results of this will be installed in the museum.

For four years, I sent hundreds of one of a kind, handmade art postcards to monthly subscribers for a project I titled RECEIVING JOY. It was fun and, eventually, not so fun. Making a few today - just for fun! - to send out later this week has been a renewed joy.

Finally got to get my hot little hands on the publication created for my project, MUNINN: Listening to Memory! Includes a wonderful essay by @riezie.bsky.social Rie Croll. The project was part of my artist residency at the Grenfell Gallery at Memorial University in 2020-21. #artsky #art #artist

Amidst the collapse of democracy in the US, my family is undergoing its own major shifts. Macro and micro -we are all connected. Finding some great photos from my parents and grandparents helps make it less sad. This is my maternal grandmother. 😂

Curious if anyone knows anything about who took this photo. It says S H Parsons, Water Street, St. John’s, NF on the back. I think it is a picture of my great, great grandfather, William Kirby, who went on to become the Anglican minister in King’s Cove. #newfoundlandhistory

Going through my mom’s extensive collection of knitting books and patterns - many of which are indelibly ingrained in my mind - and realizing how much I miss knitting books and magazines. Ravelry is an amazing resource and yet…. We have lost something too.

So excited to be part of preparing the upcoming exhibition, The Study of One Thing: The Zen and Art of Jody Hojin Kimmel, Sensei, at the Yager Museum at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, this fall. It represents over 40 years of her creative process.

No, 2017. Found textile with cut work and embroidery. I made this about eight years ago for many of the same reasons.
