These hardy yucca plants thrive in the sandy soils of Southern New Jersey. Its flowers, fruit, and roots are edible, with preparation. (I THINK, haha- I haven't tried them yet!) The leaves are also very useful, and can be woven and dried to make baskets- and even shoes!
