And this is my ZZ, whom the vet described as "remarkable." During the wellness exam last week, her heart rate never went up in any kind of anxiety or excitement, she explored the office with a sense of ownership, and she loved them cleaning her ears and clipping her claws. She is 11, and a marvel.

ZZ has never had a hairball. Before she bathes herself, she rubs her body on the rug, rolling and slithering, leaving little tufts of herself. When she's satisfied that she's gotten rid of all the loose fur, then she washes in cat spit until she's done.
