I am a big fan of professional wrestling🤼🏻‍♂️ , movies🎬 and TV shows📺. Sick of "the other place" and hope this is much nicer and polite and all that jazz.

I tend share my opinions on movies or shows I've just seen, or some of my favourite songs
📺currently watching the 1st series of Queenie's Castle, ITV series from the early 70s starring Diana Dors, show I was familiar with on name and promise (working class family in tower block in Yorkshire) but is certainly an hidden gem.

Note: Due to a strike, the first series goes from colour to b&w.

🤼Daffney episode of Dark Side of the Ring destroyed me, she was a long time favourite and, she just seemed the sweetest person in the world.

my interaction with Daffney was brief online and ended up purchasing a signed 10x8 from her, and she ended up including a bunch of stuff + a glitter bomb 1/

🎬I watched the 2002 movie Comic Book Villains, not bad but falls off the rails second half with uneven tone.

there is a line/scene at the time wouldn't memorable but now... YIKES

Danny Masterson asks if the latest Neil Gaiman as come in yet...

Like I said not a bad film.

🎬Watched Monsters vs Aliens for the first time in years, a fun animation with great characters, wish it got some sort of sequel, would have glady gone on further adventures with them.

🎬watched One Crazy Summer this afternoon, was good to revisit a childhood favourite, that I'd probably be less kind on now if I was watching for the first time today, a bunch of jokes are groan worthy but thats the charm for me, a lot of familar faces in the cast

🤼Billie Starkz on #AEW #AEWDynamite, really awesome to see

we have to get a match between her and Mercedes down the line

🎬watched Righting Wrongs (1986) recently, have such a soft spot for Hong Kong cinema (mostly 70s through to early 90s), since it's what I watched growing up, this was always one of my favourites, and great to revisit, the disc was cool with four alterante endings (fates differ drastically)

🎬rewatched Looney Tunes: Back in Action for the first time in years earlier, probable controversial take IDK, but I prefer it to Space Jam.

Joe Dante is one of my favourite directors so there is possibly bias, but I stick by my opinion.

🤼I've said in the past I wanted Harley Cameron to have a puppet and do an impression of her opponent, and glad my wish came true, the segment was a delight like a lot of Harley's segment and Mercedes was the perfect person.

🎬just finished watching BAPS with Halle Berry and Martin Landau, by no means great but thought it was better then what the general consesus seems to be

Disclaimer - I have equally great taste and bad taste in movies, so who knows?

🤼Just watched Bang and Matthews vs Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) from Freelance

it's always awesome to see Best Bros come to USA and win the fans more and more as the match goes on until it usually ends with a "please come back" chant or similar.

Not objective note - I adore Mei Suruga

🤼Kris Statlander is awesome

that's the post.

🎬fell behind watching films thanks to mostly watching TV shows, but here's some stuff I watched recently

7. Eat Locals – 2.5
8. The Legend of the Tamworth Two (3)
9. Trojan War (3)
10. Eagle vs Shark (2.5)

CONT'D underneath for some general thoughts about them

🎬his death is unsuprisingly going to get lost in news of David Lynch's passing, mainly because not a lot of people likely know the name, but director Jeannot Szwarc passed away recently.

He is somebody whose work I had a soft spot for, and even had an accidental double feature of CONT'D

🎬📺 There is plenty of people who can write more concise or better worded tribute then me to David Lynch, but Lynch's influence was clear even if you was somebody who had never seen a second of his worker, few directors have a term for their style in shorthand.

The Elephant Man will always be CONT'D

📺haven't been on here as much as I should, been catching up on last season of Cobra Kai (or the first half of), a lot of fun, doesn't take itself too seriously and always fun to see legacy character.

Got a bit annoyed (not in a good way) by a couple of characters who have been in it from CONT'D

🎬Had been writing little write ups of movies I watched last year, but fell behind, some of these I wrote about but here is what I've watched so far this year

1. I Saw The TV Glow – 3
2. Female Chauvinsts – 2
3. Tag – 4
4. Dave – 4
5. Dr. Who and the Daleks – 2.5
6. The Road To Welville – 3.5

📺Spent the last few days watching The Boys.

Funny, violent, great action, memorable characters and proudly wears it's politics on it's sleeve (it's not subtle at all on that)

3. Tag (2018)

Based loosely on a true story (they give the real people their props during the end credits), Tag is about 5 friends who have been playing tag during the month since being kids.

While you could argue improvements need to be done here and their I found CONT'D

2. Female Chauvinists (1976)

Sometimes I enjoy watching curious of a bygone era, you can sometimes discover a gem for yourself, something stoopid or a time capulse (maybe all 3), Female Chauvinists was on Amazon Prime and is an edited down adult movie stripped of all the CONT'D

1. I Saw the TV Glow (2024)

Billy Wilder regardless of what genre he was tackling as always been one of my favourite directors of all time to the point of a lesser Wilder movie I can get a lot of value out of, thankfully this movie belongs in the same breath as many of his CONT'D

Curly Sue (1991)

Little did we know at the time but this would be John Hughes final film as a director (who continued to write screenplays and his final work was a story credit under a pseudonym was Drillbit Taylor), Curly Sue also seems to be is least liked movie from CONT'D

Sex and Death 101 (2007)

Sometimes I've seen and used the time myself that there is a better film in here somewhere, in regards to story, tone etc but Sex and Death 101 literally as a better film in there somewhere with a subplot that doesn't get as much time as it should CONT'D
