Concur. Europe should seize the moment to become the superpower it claims it can be. Certainly. It can be the de facto defender of democracy (such as it is).

We’re now coming to a horrible realisation (in Europe, not yet as much in the UK) that America is at best an unreliable ally and at worst a legitimate threat to Europe, to democracy and to the rule of law.
