I wrote a book about a man from Ireland who photographed the US Civil War and then kept photographing US war. He came from Ireland at the beginning of the Great Famine, when the Irish were being displaced and the Americans who had just been displaced (Cherokee, Choctaw) proclaimed their solidarity.
