Doesn't anybody realize the GOP *wants* to extend the ACA subsidies beyond the midterms? They already have a bill to do just that. They're just not gonna do it *now,* because first they *want* a shutdown.

While pundits yell at Dem leaders not to "cave," and those leaders try to extract concessions, the Trump Party *wants* a shutdown, and will use it to destroy what's left of the people's government.

Dem Senators have no good options. They should just walk away & let GOP fully own the coming chaos.

Dems should refuse to play this game. They shouldn't vote yes on the GOP bill - AND they shouldn't vote no, because that will be portrayed as causing a shutdown. They should walk out - leave the Capitol and let the GOP own whatever happens next.

The Democratic leaders are walking into a trap. Trump wants a shutdown. The government we've known may never be back.
