It was very expensive apparently.

Sure, but the other people in the house might not want the proposed new door matt.

He might have moved back in with his parents or be renting a room in a shared house, so doesn’t have his own front door.

Wouldn’t be the same show without Robin.

wrong. The WCML is full to capacity, so is the M6.
People want to travel between London and Manchester. People fly thot route because the trains are so slow.
It’s necessary.

Real Ale shouldn’t be “body warm” anyway, cellar temperature is about 14 degrees I think.

Yes. Exactly.
December 7, 2025 at 8:52 PM
I wasn’t justifying it, I’m saying what probably happened. Obviously they should have used a better tool, but didn’t. It was amateurish, but local news often is I’m afraid.
December 7, 2025 at 8:20 AM
I was agreeing with you.
December 7, 2025 at 8:03 AM
This is true, and the news offices in Salford or London would have used the dedicated tool… I suspect this was a local journo using his laptop and a free on line tool.
December 7, 2025 at 7:53 AM
Sure, but in reality the BBC’s local news has been slashed. Not nearly as many reporters as they had a decade ago.

Why not do both? Confirming the picture is fake takes seconds, driving to the bridge could take hours - assuming you can get access to it when you get there.
December 6, 2025 at 11:13 PM
The original post said “send someone out to the bridge”

They did send someone out to the bridge. Sorry, I’m lost, can you explain?
December 6, 2025 at 4:06 PM
“school sent out a “beware strangers” text”
Probably just reminding parents to notify school if anyone else is picking up the kids.
I think the OP has embellished the situation somewhat.

Network Rail said it was made aware of the image which appeared to show major damage to Carlisle Bridge in Lancaster at 00:30 GMT and stopped rail services across the bridge while safety inspections were carried out.”

Edit Wikipedia to back up the claim.
December 6, 2025 at 11:36 AM
There’s literally pictures of the bridge in the article taken by the BBC reporter.
I’m sorry but you could at least read the article.
December 6, 2025 at 11:33 AM
Read the story. That’s exactly what Network rail did. It was 1am to be fair.
December 6, 2025 at 11:31 AM
A bit like “i used someone else’s Clubcard vouchers”, it just doesn’t work like that.
December 6, 2025 at 9:32 AM
It’s more likely the school checked with the Mum at the time, then sent out a text saying “ tell us if someone else is picking up your kids”.
December 6, 2025 at 9:31 AM
The sister should have just emailed the school in advance “my brother will be picking up my kids on wednesday”
Sorted.

In 1994? No.

People vote for Farage BECAUSE he is racist, not in spite of it.
