I’ll add that I think we’ll finish bottom half for sure, probably 14th-16th, and won’t add anyone else during the January window. Will lose in whatever next round we play in CL. TF will stay manager into next season and they’ll paint this season as an improvement on last year

Tragically, I don’t think he will get sacked. So I guess I bet never
January 25, 2026 at 3:21 PM
I mean, seeing how this Burnley game played out, I find it hard to have confidence that the Dortmund game would have ended the same if they hadn’t gone a man down so early on. It keeps getting brought up as this great sign that TF can turn things around when it feels like a false hope
January 25, 2026 at 1:14 PM
I agree, I’m inclined not to pin this on TF, just like I didn’t think it was right to pin it on Ange. There’s a ton of things that go into these injuries
January 23, 2026 at 1:12 PM
@profspur.bsky.social just meant this generally, not intentionally targeted at you. My bad
January 23, 2026 at 1:59 AM
This feels like all the same stuff we heard about when Romero got injured early on against Chelsea last season after coming back from injury. Lots of folk blamed Ange and medical staff back then. Seems fair to either backtrack that from before, or judge TF and medical staff just as harshly now.

I actually have this thought that to TF, “taking risks” genuinely means letting opposition players shoot from the edge of the box. He seems to always comment about how the data show that it’s low percentage chances. Like that’s the risk he chooses to take and it pains me to think this might be true
January 19, 2026 at 12:42 PM
Refuses to “take risks” other than giving up the edge of the box to opposing wingers and strikers. Refuses to realize the need to stay aggressive instead of booting the ball to hold onto a slim lead.
January 18, 2026 at 1:45 PM
For all of his hype of “flexibility” he’s proved that he’s not actually. He refuses to give up long throws, even though it hasn’t yielded a single goal and ruins the game. He refuses to abandon two sitters in midfield, even though it ruins any progress through the middle.
January 18, 2026 at 1:42 PM
I can’t remember when he passed the ball backwards unnecessarily even once. Always tried to go forward, sometimes even got fouls in good positions as a result. I never believed he was “injured” that whole time and thought TF mismanaged him while Ange got the best out of him
January 17, 2026 at 5:56 PM
Only thing I can theorize is that TF wanted RKM’s height to be able to get a header in off a cross or set piece. Nothing else I can think of could make it make sense
January 17, 2026 at 4:33 PM
Bissouma hat trick would be amazing!
January 17, 2026 at 4:12 PM
This is a lineup I can get behind. May be it will generate some “free floating” (can someone correct TF on this phrase btw?) style of play. It took injuries to keep players like Palhinha, Rodri and Kudus out of the starting lineup, but my hope is it will work out for the better
January 17, 2026 at 11:54 AM
My take is that he sees the game through a very data-driven lens. He doesn’t so much care about style as he does about the chance to get a win. His data focus prioritizes winning duels and taking away chances from opposition. Right now it feels like “Moneyball” but if the team just kept losing.
January 16, 2026 at 4:03 PM
There’s no way. I’m convinced TF would put under 18s on the bench before putting Bissouma in the squad.
January 16, 2026 at 4:37 AM
Next season’s midfielders (assuming they’re all fit): Madders, Gallagher, Deki, Gray, Bergvall, Sarr. That’s pretty good. Not complete, but pretty good start
January 14, 2026 at 6:30 PM
Totally fine by me. no use keeping him around. None of their business this window will improve the starting 11 (unless more get injured). Let em buy young players like always, call this season a wash, and rest up and recover for next season. Lose TF & his crew and bring back Ryan mason.
January 10, 2026 at 8:51 PM
Just enough to have some dignity, not enough to get a result. For me, proof enough that the players care enough and give a damn. I’m fine to not have this cup as another excuse to see if TF can turn it around. If similar results happen in CL, then there shouldn’t be anything left to keep TF in place
January 10, 2026 at 7:52 PM
There’s the second! Okay Palhinha off at the half. Bring on Spence and the young players too. Tell them to forget about defending and just try and string more than three passes together.
January 10, 2026 at 6:36 PM
Already one goal down. Just need Villa to score another so that the squad can abandon all hope and just say screw it and play some actual football
January 10, 2026 at 6:25 PM
Match comms acknowledging as much. Saying how during Ange’s injury crisis, everyone blamed his training style. And ending the comment saying that it must not have been just that
January 10, 2026 at 6:17 PM
Hoping that after we inevitably fall behind by multiple goals, TF will abandon his double pivot, sub on RKM for Palhinha and let Odobert and Xavi play as two CAMs and let Gray be a holding midfielder. And that this will be the last we see of his doomed double pivot strategy

Oh I thought it was all the manager’s fault because he couldn’t adapt? Where was all this criticism of the board at the end of last season? If only there was a video of her saying how it was all the board’s fault back then, oh wait no it’s the opposite www.tiktok.com/@talksport/v...

To think that now there’s a manager in place where I can’t imagine any of that happening. Nothing even close to it.
January 10, 2026 at 4:55 AM
I also think about the moments like after Tamworth where Ange is cracking up at Djed’s ridiculous hat, or Ange sitting in the grass with his players at training for the Europa league final, Porro running to him with tongue out after his assist, or the locker room speech after Bodo away. Just sad
