The negotiations on the UN plastic treaty have collapsed. Having witnessed the second meeting of the delegates (INC-2) I'm not surprised at all. Petrostates, fossil fuel and plastic industry will never allow such a treaty to exist in a meaningful way.

The PubMed site has a notice that because of the US government shutdown, the site will not be updated. I wished the EU could set up a similar site, so important for scientists.

I agree. Low-income countries are the most exposed to the consequences of the climate crisis even though they contribute much less than us to it. If we don’t help them there will be mass climate migrations, and food systems in many parts of the world will collapse.
