⚛️ Liquid sulfur has an equilibrium polymerization phase transition around Tc = 160 C. Well below Tc it is a yellow liquid of mostly cyclooctasulfane (S₈) rings.
Longer rings form, becoming very long near Tc. The liquid is viscous and turns brown. The specific heat has a sharp lambda transition.
