One of many in the Great Migration from Twitter (2024). So far, I like this place.

Forty years ago, on March 21, Michael Redgrave died the day after his 77th bday, so here’s one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite Redgrave performances (watching Redgrave’s Vanya feels like the first breath of fresh air as the earth is reborn in spring, I’m truly convinced of it 🥹)

Happy 117th to Michael Redgrave! What a swell guy 🥹

Many happy returns to Patrick McGoohan, who would’ve turned 97 today.
As the saying goes, may the sun shine on you today & every day 💚
There isn’t a day that goes by in which I don’t catch myself thinking in a way that’s been clearly influenced by Pat, & I’m immensely thankful to him.

On this day 100 years ago, Jack Lemmon was born in an elevator in Newton-Wellesley Hospital 🍋

Paul Newman would’ve turned 100 today.

My dad had me watch "The Verdict" when I was 9, as he was convinced that I didn't know what I was saying when I said I wanted to be a lawyer.

This film not only reinforced my love for the profession, but, as it was my first ever PN film, it made me a PN fan 🥹

Patrick McGoohan died OTD in 2009. His innovative work broke many barriers in TV as he conveyed his ideas/concerns that our progress in tech/weaponry is so fast that it will result in us “tak[ing] good care of this planet shortly.” Painful to see his predictions from the ‘60s/‘70s manifesting today.

Graham Chapman would’ve turned 84 today. He only got to celebrate 48 birthdays, but his influence has extended far beyond those 48 birthdays, & I’m one of those who was touched by that influence & am incredibly grateful for his existence, as short as it was.

Check the alt text btw 👀👀👀

We all have an emotional support dead famous guy and who he is says a lot about you.

(I have multiple, actually 🫣)

(If you’re inclined to think my liking Michael Redgrave means I don’t agree with the Freudian/Oedipal interpretation of Hamlet’s relationship with his mom, you’d be correct)
