I fail to understand why Tabs are not default for indentation in code projects. I'm quite sure all arguments for spaces are incorrect.

Machine learning algorithms within a #rails app? External modelling and api calls?

Still enjoying the fact I can chat with GPT regarding code ideas. Get a response that I think is aboslute bollocks, spew out my unfiltered mumbled mess of feedback and work towards something that can clarify my thoughts, make sense and allow me to understand the bigger picture as well.

Spent all day using up 75000 API calls to ingest as much data as possible and I'm still not bored. This project is slowly but surely coming together one stupid mistake at a time.

While it sucks quite a lot. being able to explore ideas or boilerplate code is a game changer with AI / ChatGPT / Claude Sonnet. For someone with ADHD and a tough time getting ideas / solutions out of my head, beaing able to get code out and fix the bullshit really opens up a world of possibilties

I'll jump on this band wagon, sent this from a friend in East Kent (Rochester way), England (bottom of London and all the way east) at 10pm last night... seems to happen more these last couple of years, I don't remember it ever happening before that and I've been around for 40+ years. Pretty cool

I don't really understand why libreoffice is so jank after so many years. I mean, I do but it could be so much better. It's not even the fact it's java but the UX is wank after using Office or Google Sheets at work. We need better. We need a decent native solution, it is possible. Who's with me?!

Todays question is... Mastodon or BlueSky, and why. Choice is a great thing but it would be better if we could hook them up together imo.

Spent a little too long doing things I wasn't planning to, instead of working on the escape plan. The joys of enjoying what you do. #webdevelopment #sass #11ty

I came up with a game idea over the weekend and with GPT I've now realised my imagination is way bigger than my skillset could ever be... and I have other tasks that are more important to complete before I take more on.

Hunting for the right CSS naming convention for me. BEM just ends up in the same realm as bootstrap or bulma imo but I'm also a fan to a large degree. High level modifiers and individual class names is probably where I stand. They can share the same code.

I've been testing the cursor.com IDE and it's pretty sick. Makes like ridiculously easy to knock out boilerplate code and with the new models about it's great and reasoning issues with your code base. I'm certainly enjoying it.

Part of the life change is going back on to ritalin after 20 years away. The amount of shit I've got done this past week has been staggering but the side effects still suck but the more I understand my brain, the more advantage I gain with the stimulant usage.

Apps that don't have an easy way to delete accounts should be banned. I'm so bored of these dark arts to keep my details on a service I haven't used in many years.

Today I reorganise my life. Move personal emails to my own solution, change browser to brave, start investing in both crypto and fiat, hook up fitness rewards, yadda yadda yadda. Small changes but every little helps or the experiments fail and we move on.

Is AI going to kill development? I see it as more a help to get the mundane completed quickly, like fleshing out boilerplate but I just don't see it being able to come up with uniquely reasoned code. It's just a complex search engine after all... right?! 😏

Early 40's and bored of floating around life and not enjoying myself so I'm moving country and changing career to be in my happy place. Lots of ducks to get in a row and education to be had over the next few months but I'm game.
