Hey @npr.org, if you want to hear a crazy story about how hard we have fought over the past 25 years of my daughter's life to keep her on insurance and alive, receiving her treatments and therapies, thanking Obamacare, fighting Cigna and Carecentrix for overbilling and ..hit me up. It's been wild!

I fought with my medical fund for 6 years to allow my daughter's private duty nursing provider contract directly with fund to cut out all the middlemen taking from the pot and not providing any services. Finally won and got them substantial raises, travel pay and sign on bonuses, working on benefits

As the father of a 25yo with Rett Syndrome, a pacemaker, g-tube and around the clock care, I'm blessed with a union insurance plan that covers private duty nursing...but I have to fight like hell to keep her coverage. Plus Medicaid covers nothing for her. Hell, they denied her at first.
