Wood artist, voracious audio book listener.
I'm waiting for the day that one of the actual journalists in the audience rebels. One that has a podcast, book or pundit deal already inked and isn't worried about losing their job. I just imagine that person standing up and throwing a shoe at her and screaming, "HORSE S**T!"

Just like Nicolae Ceaușescu.

What history books have you read? Up until 250 years ago, Western Ukraine belonged to the Habsburg Empire and Eastern Ukraine was just getting absorbed into Russia by Catherine the Great. "Western coup" is a russian propaganda myth: See: foreignpolicy.com/2024/08/04/u...
The Stubborn Legend of a Western ‘Coup’ in Ukraine
Ten years on, there is still confusion over what, exactly, transpired on the last days of the Maidan.

False choice. There are many more possibilities than these two. Most other choices start with Russia invading a sovereign nation.

They are very likely to get nothing out of committee. If the republicans are willing to use their majority to redefine what the word “day” means, democrats in the house will have no chance to legislate at all.

I'd add Rick Santelli for the retirement list as well.

This is exceptionally rich because for the last year, his base has been crying that EVs sap the grid, how “dirty” they are to produce, how EVs are only for rich elites and so on. Now the White House is a wholly owned Tesla dealership. All it cost Elon was $100M.

"I'm not always sure of what I'm talking about but I'm always sure of what I'm sayin'." - Mojo Nixon

Unfortunately, this quote has too much self awareness in it to reflect the brick wall of misinformation with whom Sam was futilely trying to debate.

I found most things on the meme list floating around from conservatives, except the $50M/$100M for Gaza condoms. No surprise. Conservative descriptions were purposely reductive to make them sound frivolous.

A trade war with Canada affects more than housing. 30 states get energy from Canada. Electricity tariffs will severely impact New York, Vermont and Maine. In November 2024 the US imported 138M barrels of oil from Canada.

I'm very glad to hear our Senator is reaching out to people who know to get actual data.

You likely copied this from someone else without verifying. One source I could find indicated it was from the WITS site of the world bank. First match in the WITS list for 2022 is "Meat; of bovine animals, .." The applied tariff was 0%.

I'm getting out the popcorn to see the cirque du soleil style trapeze and hire wire acts to blame the high prices on democrats. Not to mention how they'll blame Biden for their higher property taxes to pay for the new text books, maps and globes because "Gulf of Ego."
