Collectively develop principals and goals for rebuilding, such as using fire-resistant materials and protecting the charm of the original neighborhoods. It's devastating to imagine people who have no experience doing this getting taken advantage of. How can we all help? 3/3

I don't know much about them, but I'm sure someone here does, but does a Community Land Trust (CLT) make sense? How do you collectively re-build and then return ownership to the original owner? Is there another mechanism that doesn't require a contribution of land into the trust? Is it necessary?

#1 preserve owner's rights and equity. How can this best be protected? I hope someone is thinking about forming a non-profit, controlled by the current owners, to manage the process of rebuilding. So many stakeholders and so many opportunities for people to get ripped off. 2/?

Since 2015, more U.S. school kids die in mass shootings yearly than soldiers in battle. But don’t worry, pro-gun folks will say the military’s safer because everyone has guns. Schools just need more, right?
