"Back to square one" is a phrase with an apparent football origin dating back to the early days on radio commentary. Pitch divided into squares to aid listeners understanding of where play was. The goalkeeper occupied square one and the phrase denotes a back pass to the keeper.

Callum good and saved our blushes. Other positives: despite our recent dip in form, we are still 3rd in the league, 1/3rd of the way through the season. Also we are significantly outperforming where most of us thought we would be this season, and still a team that can compete.
