Saw Dearden‘s 1 league game for Barnet, at the other end of the 90s. A 5-2 defeat (better than that season’s other loanee keeper, Nicky Rust’s debut - 1-9!). Always think of him as a rare example of a short goalkeeper (think Wikipedia is giving him an inch or two at 5ft 11!).

If only Freestone had saved that panenka perhaps Lineker wouldn’t have tried it again versus Brazil at the end of that season!

Noticed David Moyes openly - *openly* - smiling and celebrating Everton’s goal vs his former club last night. We know this is strictly forbidden by convention amongst players. Surely if supporters’ delicate feelings are hurt to an unacceptable degree by a former player enjoying a goal against them..

To my eye/ear I think the offside offence is Armstrong walking back from an offside position when that hefty tackle sends the ball forwards.

Surely if this goal to make it 2-1 to Plymouth completed anything it was a turnaround, not a comeback. They were never ahead in the 1st place, so how can they ‘come back’ to being 1 up!? If my team was 3-0 down and later made it 3-3 I wouldn’t think ‘we still need 1 more to complete the comeback’!
