@debbieohi.com Just read this quote this morning: "I believe that the very process of looking can make a thing beautiful."
- David Hockney. Feels appropriate to your textures exercise!

If you've ever read the Artist's Way, it's a good "artist's date" to take yourself on: a walk collecting textures and abstractions. I also find it helps me really appreciate the beauty of the city which can sometimes feel not so pretty :)

I have been doing the Draw Together with Wendy Mac and it has been AWESOME. So far we've created abstract drawings that focus on process not product with digestible lessons, artist inspiration + 10-min prompts. I look forward to it everyday. club.drawtogether.studio

Happy Monday a day late! This week I'd like to complete TWO pieces of final art by Thursday night and 5 million pre-holiday to-dos. And also beat a burgeoning cold that is forming.😭 Good luck to all!

I love this idea! This week I will revise sketches for the ending of my current PB and complete 1 piece of finished art for it. So say I, so it shall be done.🥴

We need to play.

We need to fail.

We need to experiment. And learn. And try again.

And that's why my #1 piece of advice for picture book writers who have been revising the same pb for years is to gently thank it and set it aside. And then write something new.
