If you believe that the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen was because of economic reasons, you're sadly mistaken. Up until this announcement CBS has been utterly silent about financial pressures on The Late Show while they have been vocal about financial issues elsewhere on the network. (1)

If this had a chance of leading the US into a Star Trek sort of world, I'd be all in. What it will do first is crash the economy with massive unemployment. And the only thing that would prevent collapse would be a universal income. America would never do that.

I appreciate the vitriol pointed at Trump and Musk, but they don't care about your protests. We need to picket and protest at the offices of EVERY GOP member of congress. State and Federal. They need to understand that their continued support will cost them their jobs.

I still don't understand why remote work is unacceptable. It saves the government on facilities costs, workers time and $ on commuting. Heck, some agencies are so large, meetings are done via Zoom anyway, so what's the difference? Power. Just power.
