Agreed - context certainly matters. Given it’s a survey targeted at a subset of urban/suburban residents the findings should be interpreted as such. Framing xenophobia as a reaction to government policy isn’t particularly helpful in addressing the core issue of intolerance. I’m sure headlines like this sell newspapers though. Racism makes people racist… let’s do something about that…

It’s undeniable that London has a grip on me. The last time I was here I had to move back to Canada the day before the UK went on lockdown, so it was an abrupt and sad departure, to say the least. It’s nice to be back - I’m soaking up all the charm, grit, and character. Grateful. 🙏🏿🙂🇬🇧
