I knew it wouldn’t happen, but I kind of hoped that there could be a discussion in the aftermath of remote school about investing more in schools to get students back on track. But it was just an opportunity for some to advance politically at the expense of schools, teachers, and students.

I really appreciated this! As a 48 year old, I believe I have heard some version of “American schools are failing” my entire adult life. Including times when the scores referenced were going up (they would compare us to other countries then).

Yes- it’s *okay* for people who aren’t democrats to also disapprove of Trump! If they want to help undermine him, that’s great, and I can still be aware that there isn’t much else we agree on.

And it wasn’t very long ago that we had K12 parents and higher ed students and parents *demanding* in-person classes when they went away. How do people forget so quickly?
