In 1945 the United States agreed to stop shooting Nazis.
This was, of course, a mistake.
I worked construction for almost ten years, a lot of the jobs were renovations in active buildings.
I heard a lot of complaints, but what I remember most was the nurse at the children's hospital who took the time to say "thank you, we really appreciate what y'all are doing."

FLCL is still a really, really high bar.
October 24, 2025 at 12:43 AM
Let's be real, that is NOT a high bar.

Better yet, figure out which character said transphobe is gooning over and make that character trans.

The most shocking part of this story was finding out Trump knows how to count.

Somebody shove this nerd in a locker, please.

SHOULD liberalism be saved? The definition of "liberal" seems to drift farther right with every year and every "compromise."
Many modern self-identified liberals are to the right of Ronald Reagan.

I would want the cameras.

Enslaving and forcibly mutating sentient creatures for bloodsport?
Does seem a little sketchy, yeah.
September 21, 2025 at 10:09 PM
Yes. Scooby-Doo, an adult Great Dane with human-level intelligence and capable of verbal communication, passes the Harkness Test.
Make of that information what you will.
September 21, 2025 at 4:25 PM
Only the ones with human-level intelligence or greater.
So feel free to flirt with Alakazam, but keep your dick out of the Magikarp.
September 21, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Yeah, sorry, no.
Accusing people who criticize Israel of antisemitism doesn't fly any more.
Not when Jewish people are marching in the streets with "not in my name" signs, and Israeli teenagers are choosing to go to jail rather than join the IDF.
Starving kids to death isn't self-defense.
September 19, 2025 at 5:14 AM
I would hardly trust an Israeli firm to be an arbiter of morality.
September 18, 2025 at 7:31 AM
So I ask again, can the people who embrace these beliefs be saved?
Can we appeal to humanity of people who believe cruelty is strength and empathy is weakness?
More importantly, should we even try?

It was never about "Making America Great Again."
The MAGA ideology revolves around the belief that the patriarchal white supremacist policies that America was built on *are* what makes America great.
September 17, 2025 at 9:53 AM
American exceptionalism, for most of us in the US, was taught as an undeniable fact. We were the best, the brightest, the gold stand of freedom all the the other countries aspired to.
This was, of course, a lie.
And that's where MAGA comes in.
September 17, 2025 at 9:53 AM
Those who hold to the MAGA ideology weren't looking for something to believe in. They were looking for someone to give them permission to express what they already believed in.
They espouse the superiority of their leader because he makes *them* feel superior.
September 17, 2025 at 9:53 AM
I guess my question is, can you save someone from themselves if the monster they become *is* their true, unfiltered self?
We call them cultists, accurately, because MAGA fits every definition of a cult.
But unlike other cults, it seems like MAGA relies very little on manipulation.

Really, Bernie? You don't understand the Democrat party throwing the popular populist candidate under the bus for not toeing the establishment party line?
This sorta thing isn't painfully familiar to you?
