I tought it as a way to balance things in an hypothetical case the color identity rule changes.

I also prefer the current mana rules (as long as things don't change).

This old mana rule must return in this case:

"If you would generate mana outside your commander's color identity, it becomes colorless instead".

I completely agree that hybrid mana cards shouldn't be alowed in colors they don't belong, they ARE multicolored cards.

... just set a price cap for your EDH decks?
