looking forward to giving these a read. I did leave the film thinking "Rian has now made two films looking at religious institutions and faith" (which is the aspect of The Last Jedi that I think speaks most to me)

Klaus by Grant Morrison & Dan Mora
(Since you’re picking up Benito’s book, try Morrison’s spin on the woodsman/Santa Claus origins.
Very early comic work by Mora who has become the current DC house style and redesigned Santa Claus as an in universe DC “hero”)

NOS4A2
(Fiction, horror, adapted into a tv show from a few years ago)

Hogfather
(Terry Pratchett’s Discworld take on belief/tradition. Death takes over the Hogfather’s role when he disappears)

Horrible Christmas by Terry Deary
(Horrible Histories was a popular kids Book series popular in the mid/late 90s “History with the nasty bits left in”. Reprinted with a new cover every couple of years, but the original “Christmas annual” style hardback is still in my collection)

Ok, off the top of my head:

Jolly Christmas Postman by Janet & Allen Ahlberg
(Flip/pop up/interactive book. For kids, but beautiful)

Yule lads - Brian Pilkington
(Large format illustrated)

The Christmas chronicles - Nigel slater
(Recipes, history & biography; audiobook is a very cosy listen too)

Let me have a think - everything has been in boxes the last couple of years through flat/house moves, but I should be able to determine a shortlist over the weekend
