Nazi supporter in the 1930’s Martin Niemöller’s personal awakening made him realise that apathy and lack of empathy for our fellow human beings is a moral and ethical failure. By not speaking out against injustices we fail. His Poem written in 1946 “First they came” remains so relevant.
