The “cultural heritage” keyword struck me

For most of them, it feels like struggling to get STS is productive and worth it. Yet, I notice how psychologically heavy it's been for all of us to have these conversations because of what is happening outside the class, especially when wondering how to challenge the status quo.

I'm happy that these conversations are happening in class and I couldn't be prouder of my class for prompting them. Many said STS was a fresh perspective to them even though they are struggling with understanding the mechanics of social sciences, as it's the first time for them.

Students (coming from Engineering, Architecture and Design) were very eager to look closely at the current political climate through technology. We commented the presence of tech CEOs at the Inauguration and talked about the rise of the far right and what it means for women and minorities.
