Signing Frimpong, effectively a right winger at Leverkusen, as Trent replacement is weird. Bradley is nowhere near the Trent output. I looked at the signings as assumed we were moving to 3-4-3 or something, so I'm bemused overall tbh.

I've just read a great piece on the crisis frame created in part by media in Yugoslavia that led to hideous ethnic cleansing. While the situation here is obviously different, the media frame from this summer on is alarmingly similar.

The thing is, if we accept we need defence but don't want to be "America's poodle", we need to increase defence spending instead of relying on America to provide Europe's defence. There's a socialist case for doing that responsibly and ethically inc. spending on conflict res. and human security.

As someone who YP should be appealing to I found this utterly mortifying nonsense. This is going to be a party George Galloway will be comfortable in.
