@robfreese.bsky.social
Writer for The Phantom of the Movies’ Videoscope and It Came From Hollywood. I also write novels, movie tie-ins and screenplays.
Film producer Sam Sherman passed away on Monday. Sam was great. He called me out of the blue one day, “Rob Freese? This is Sam Sherman, president of I-IP.” I always loved talking to him. I was on the editorial team who helped put his book, “When Dracula Met Frankenstein” together. Rest now, sir.

“Rob, what exactly do you do at the library?” Well, I show awesome movies and remind people how much fun you can have going to movies. I also concoct cheap gimmicks for the movies I show. Tomorrow is Dana Cannon’s Moving Violations scratch off game. 27% accurate- if you drive a puppet stage.

I don’t tend to post about flicks I snag for my collection, but I picked up this set for practically nothing. (A couple are still sealed.) I recently learned about this series from my favorite slasher movie podcast, The Hysteria Continues. Funny how life works sometimes. Matron, please!

I had an awesome time talking to Justin, Erik, Joseph and Nathan today about Drive-in Massacre for an upcoming episode The Hysteria Continues! podcast. Now for something a little less slashery.

Thank you to everyone who has picked up the slasher book! I appreciate your support more than you know. My copy arrived and there were some opportunities to make it better. I’m addressing them. If your book arrives with my name and title in red, that book is no longer available. -White is corrected.
