Generally on a train, visiting new grounds and visiting new towns, by a window that holds my wistful gaze, penning the odd whimsical fanzine article as I go.
A grey day of blanket cloud and persistent drizzle could not quell Women's FA Cup fever at Ericstan Park, home of Wythenshawe Town, as Manchester Laces, vociferously backed, battled strongly but fell to a 1-3 defeat to Wallsend BC Women #groundhopping

At the top pitch I can exalt the view from the most elevated plateau terraced into the gentle wave of surrounding hills. Up here, the 1st XIs clatter my frame and down where the crows are scattered in their fertile field, the 2nds, nay even 3rds, can dream of loftier ambition.

Not a great day for Salisbury at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium as visitors Tonbridge Angels, despite a consolation penalty, eased to a 1-3 victory with a few dissenting voices behind the home goal and plenty of gallows humour ("It's only 3 nil...) #groundhopping

A beautiful day for a pre-match exploration of the cathedral city of Salisbury and to see one of four remaining versions of Magna Carta, then on to its neighbouring forebear of Old Sarum, conveniently on the way to the ground.

I've not been the most engaged in social media in the last month, but 15 days across 2 trips to Switzerland following the Lionesses and the Women's Euros have been a wonderful experience culminating in Basel last night. I shall remain in awe of what this team have achieved.
