Before your child even steps out the door every day, their emotional baseline for the day is already set — not by color-coded routines, but by how safe and connected they feel in your presence.

Parents who raise happy kids practice these nine morning rituals to create emotional safety.
I've studied over 200 kids—the happiest ones have parents who do 9 things with them every morning
Raising happy kids starts with a calm, joyful morning routine. Child psychologist Reem Raouda has studied over 200 kids, and she's found that the happiest, most well-rounded kids have parents who do nine things with their children every morning.

She spent a lifetime guarding that legacy from the small city where Tubman spent her final years

Now that winter is here in Duluth, Minnesota, it's time to ride the bus to work and leave copies of my poetry collection on seats for people to find and if we're lucky, they put the phone away and read a poem. It's called Book Crossing. nothing cozier than a warm bus!

#Climate denial isn’t just rejecting science—it’s defending the myth of endless growth. As The Limits to Growth warned decades ago, we can’t expand forever on a finite planet. What we need now is a new story of progress—one rooted in limits, care, and belonging. 🧪🌍🌐
An excellent read 👇

I deleted my FB account in January of this year. Nine months later I have a beautiful baby novel of 100,000 words. I love this choice. Your time is valuable, please consider what fruits you will harvest from how you spend the time of your life.

No Kings! Look up an event near you and make a stand while we still have any part of a democracy. If you have young kids like I do and want to keep them safe (because the streets are flooded with guns), make a stand in your yard. Silence is a void that can be filled with hate!
