I think SM companies will need to ensure each is verified with a govt issued ID or number…can’t sell an account if it can’t be verified. Can’t have duplicate accounts either…

It’s actually a flip I believe (I live there). SM has to set up a verification process with govt databases (don’t know which one yet) to prove you’re over 16.

So the new cards would have a NFC chip in them then like current ones? Surely they’ll work it out.
