Vaguely remember reading that VFX shots in the first one were rendered at sub-1080p resolution (1024x768 or something similar), but I can only assume by 1997 they were doing them in 2K.

While he has gotten better over the years, that Bondlike ski thing at the end of Inception is total mess of terrible editing and shitty action blocking.
