The author argues that while it is not surprising that the rich emit more CO2, reducing inequality may not necessarily reduce emissions. The author suggests including a figure showing emissions per unit of income for different income groups to provide a more nuanced view.

I should say we haven't put much thought into the list, it has evolved over time as people have suggested people to add or substract. This year it was sorted on first name and that revealed how many John's we had gathered.
