So I made this game - just, like, a little puzzle to decode. And there is a locked box next to it that if you solve the puzzle you get the combination to the box. You open the box and there are little prizes. Nothing prizes - candy, party favors. And I put it out in the hall next to my office.

One of my favorite small projects I’ve been working on - “scratch and read” bookmarks for our library to give out. We want to do these periodically. This first set is sci-fi novels.

STEM day alternate reality game is complete. Now time to reflect on what worked and what didn’t. What worked: creating layers of immersion throughout. What didn’t: too much for a short time period? Needed more questing time.

The complete set of catapult braces! I would be happy to share this if anyone is interested. Would be great for building and testing in classrooms, especially for younger age groups.

An engineering challenge at our STEM day involves building pencil catapults, but it also must be done fast. So, I’m designing braces students can use to speed up the builds.

Working with one of our math faculty to design math teaching aids. This circle we printed has a peg every 10 degrees around the circumference, a peg in the center, and two center lines creating 4 quadrants.

Is there research that correlates viewing/reading the syllabus with student success? I ask because my institution uses online syllabi that track whether students read their syllabus (how often and how much).
