Spent years thinking I disliked Wes Anderson's films. Turns out I just needed a little more context -- and a mega retrospective at La Cinémathèque Franchise . It feels surprisingly good to change your mind.

So sad to hear of the passing of film critic David Stratton. He was Australia's Roger Ebert, a man who taught a generation of us how to watch movies. His deep integrity, both in his work and in his life, was the real lesson. A true giant.

My therapy practice is tucked between Gambetta & Nation, in the south of Paris' 20th. It’s not postcard Paris — and that’s part of the charm: cobblestones, cafés, and creative calm.

I like a clean home. But I don’t like burning a whole weekend to get there.

This blog post breaks down the systems that help me keep a home clean without overwhelm:
✔️ Task batching
✔️ Apps
✔️ Steam cleaning (it’s a thing)

I used to avoid housework and feel shame about it.

Now, I find calm in the routine.

This week's blog post is about the emotional journey behind that shift — from overwhelm to something surprisingly empowering.

Music scenes in Paris are more than just entertainment—they're mirrors of class, identity, and belonging. From Wagner at La Philharmonie to working-class pride at punk gigs, here's what I've been noticing.

In the Tuileries, next to the Louvre, men have cruised for centuries. This blog post explores queer history, secrecy, risk — and the sacredness of hidden spaces.

Ever felt off but didn’t know why? You’re not alone.

Alexithymia is the struggle to understand or express emotions—common in trauma, neurodivergence, and modern masculinity.

Here’s what it looks like in real life—and what you can do about it:

Fans don’t just cheer, they protect the myth. In sport, as in politics and media, admiration is confused with allegiance.

Remember how long people defended Lance Armstrong?

When myths crack, we often double down on belief rather than accept loss.

What comforting stories do we still cling to?

A national treasure you can still hear: the Musée de la Musique has a 17th-century harpsichord that’s played in live performances.

History doesn’t sit still — it plays on. The French understand that preserving culture also means using it: protecting the past, and staying in dialogue with it.

Not a sports person, but I love a good revenge story — especially when it’s political.

West Indies cricket in the 70s wasn’t just about winning. It was about shaking off colonial shame.

Cine-concert for Alice Guy. Eight silent films, live music by women, and the best cinema hall in Paris.

Alice Guy made 700+ films. She was the first woman filmmaker. But history forgot her.

It felt like the past was speaking.

My therapy practice is in the 20th — Paris’s secret village.

Cobblestones. Art deco churches. Local cafés. Creative energy that isn’t trying too hard.

Just 20 mins from Châtelet but feels like a world apart. Come for the therapy, stay for the neighbourhood.

To the mothers who loved well—thank you. You shaped the world.

To those whose mothers couldn’t love them—because of trauma, illness, or pain—I see you. The journey to accept is long, and your strength in facing it deserves recognition too.

Sending love — however Fête des Mères lands for you. 💛

Street artists shape public spaces with care and meaning. Instead of erasing what’s there — they build on it. Urban Art Fair 2025 made me think how, therapy does too. We work with what’s already inside of us, drawing out the parts that need light and breathing room: a form of creative restoration.
May 19, 2025 at 9:02 AM
When I write therapy blog posts, I switch up spaces to spark new thoughts—desk for focus, cafés for energy, and bed with rave lights for full creativity mode.

Neurodivergent or not, the right setup can unlock your truest voice.
