I don't hate saying "I told you so" Same thing happened before with Google search. They took their cut and will provide data until AI can simulate and learn on its own. It's a slow death.

What's really painful is the fact that this is not a first time. Internet is not that new. We saw what hate and negativity and cynicism did to first news groups and forums and fan pages.

The way they define problem they are solving is wrong. Approach to solving is wrong. And they don't know how to hire and hiring wrong people to solve real problem and even their wrong definition of a problem. It's a dead business. They just don't know it yet

It's worse. You can punish and control greed. They are panicking. And they are out of good ideas. You can expect anything good to come of this until they run into the ground and they get restructured. Every business is just group of people solving specific problem in a specific way.

It's just funny how in gaming industry people would list:
oh I do mocap of demonic creatures and I only use Sony discman for music and build puppets on weekends and I do yoga / bake sourdough!

Also most of those stolen images are porn. But there is no way this is not sorted by cut to all unionized artist. And any solution is temporary solution. Once AI can simulate and teach itself it can practice and train itself drawing skills and you are back to machines perfectly imitating art

I wrote long time ago about universe without war but obsessed with space racing. And then the war starts and all ships have old racing car or ww2 aesthetics. This reminds me of that a bit.
